Base Phase COMPLETE!

Over the past three weeks, my team and I have been laying the "foundation" (AKA the "Build Phase") for the training to come over the next three months. Essentially we've been learning to swim efficiently, working on our running form, and completing some light cycling around Santa Monica. While its been fun working on the basics, over the next four weeks we'll be having some "real fun!" pushing our training into our first "build phase." Essentially we'll be increasing our endurance by swimming a little longer, running a little faster, and cycling a little harder.

This Saturday we'll actually be cycling the entire Malibu Triathlon bicycle course, which most of my teammates are competing in in September. Unfortunately, this is just another training ride for me as one of my best friend's, Alexia (http://alexia.posterous.com/), talked me into competing in the Triathlon at Pacific Grove on the same day instead. Beautiful! While I could be learning the race course, I guess I'll just have to focus on my cadence (RPM) instead. Thanks Alexia!

Anyways, since today was a "rest" day, I'm going to keep this one short. Until next time...
